Cable management for a standing desk: leave room for movement

A standing desk needs enough cable slack for full height without leaving loose loops that snag at sitting height.

Test at maximum height first

Raise the desk fully before fixing cable lengths. This is the position that reveals whether power and display cables can reach safely.

Anchor the power strip to the moving desk

Keeping most device power connections on the desktop structure reduces the number of cords that must travel to the wall.

Create one flexible vertical path

A cable spine, sleeve, or controlled bundle can guide the remaining power lead from the desk to the floor.

Protect moving joints

Keep wires away from lifting columns, crossbars, and pinch points.

Workroom Standard conclusion

The cleanest standing-desk setup usually moves most of the power distribution with the desktop and leaves only one controlled path down to the outlet.
