Under-desk cable tray vs cable box: which is better?

Both can hide a power strip and adapters. The real difference is where the clutter lives and how easily you can service it later.

Choose an under-desk tray when

You want the floor clear, need cables to travel directly toward equipment, or use a sit-stand desk.

Choose a cable box when

You cannot attach anything to the desk, want the power strip accessible from the floor, or have only a few adapters.

Heat and access

Do not pack power equipment so tightly that ventilation becomes questionable. Whatever system you use, make sure plugs can be reached without dismantling the entire desk.
